Last week we kicked off our second unit of the year. For the next several weeks until Winter Break we will be learning all about the Washoe Indians. The Washo Indians were the first people of the Sierra Nevadas and we will be learning all about their way of life and connection to our local area..
Several of you have requested that I put together a class contact list similar to what you had in first and second grade for the purpose of scheduling playdates and birthday parties. If you would like to be included on this list please complete the attached google form with any information you would like me to share with others. Once I have received all responses I will send home a list with the contact information for the students/parents who have chosen to participate.
This Tuesday, November 16th is our annual downtown tree decorating. Our tree will be located in front of Bar of America. Please plan to arrive at 4:00 so that your child can hang their ornament on our tree. This years event will be a bit different than in years past. While we will be decorating our tree on Tuesday the downtown tree lighting ceremony will not be until this Friday the 19th.
Finally, please don't forget about our basket for the PTO Holiday Breakfast. Our class theme is fishing. We are collecting fishing themed donations to put inside our basket such as fishing lures, bait, fishing line, a tackle box, fishing poles, or any other fishing gear you can think of. Gift cards to Mountain Hardware or Cabela's would be great too. We could also use a basket or container to put everything in. Please send in your donations by this Friday, November 19th. The PTO does so much for our students please help us support the if you are able. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Have a great week!
