We wrapped up our adaptations projects last week and will start this week presenting our projects to help us practice our listening and speaking skills. The kiddos worked so hard on their paragraphs and dioramas, I can't wait for you to see how they turned out. We also finished our novel study of "The Wild Robot" by Peter Brown. This was another great novel that helped us expand our vocabularies. It taught us an important lesson about friendship and taking care of others as well. Ask your child if they can tell you about any of the words we learned or the moral or lesson from our story. Please let me know if your child is successfully able to do either so that I can recognize them in class for being an active listener
We ended our week with our 2nd annual Dia Del Nino school wide celebration on Friday. We had a special guest reader, danced, played "loteria", ate tamales for lunch and ended our day with a pinata. It was a great day!
Finally, we are getting more and more drivers cleared each week for our June field trips. Thank you so much to those of you who have taken the time to complete the volunteer process to help make these valuable learning experiences possible for the students. Thank you to those of you who have volunteered to transport your own child on these trips as well, every seat belt helps . We are up to 19 seat belts for our June 9th field trip and 16 for our June 17th trip. While we are getting closer and closer we still need a few more drivers. Please let me know If you are in the process of being cleared to drive students or if you are able to transport your own child on either of these trips.
Have a great week!
