Your child should have started their legends book report by now. All students were sent home with an assigned book last Monday along with the packet of information about how to complete the report. In addition, they should have come home with a rubric for their report and presentation on Wednesday. We went over all of the expectations for their report and took a very close look at the rubric that will be used to grade them so that they are well aware of what should be included in their reports. We even took a look at a sample report for some inspiration. All reports should be brought to school next Monday, November 20th. If your child will be absent from school next week due to the Thanksgiving holiday please have your child return their report by this Friday, November 17th so that they can present their report before the holiday. Please let me know if you have any questions.
This Friday, November 17th, is the annual downtown tree decorating. Our tree will be located in front of Mountain Homecenter's downtown store. All students should arrive at our tree around 4:15 to hang their ornament. I hope you will stick around afterwards for the festivities. The chorus will be performing by the train station, Santa will be making a special appearance, and the annual tree lighting will take place once it is dark as well. In addition, you can stop by El Toro Bravo afterwards for some yummy dinner while helping our PTO at the same time. Just mention "Glenshire Elementary" and they will donate 10% of the proceeds to our PTO.
Have a great week!
