We've been busy this week learning about ancient China during literacy this week. We read about the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers as well as Chinese writing and how inventive the ancient Chinese were. We even read a Chinese fairy tale called The Magic Paintbrush. In the story the little boy had a magic paintbrush and whatever he painted came to life. After we finished reading the students got to imagine that they had a magic paintbrush and painted what they would use it for. Here are some of their wonderful paintings.
In math this week we've been working on counting all the way up to 1,000 and using place value (hundreds, tens, and ones) to help us count more efficiently. They have been working with partners and their table teams a lot this week and have been doing a wonderful job of problem solving and working together to complete a task. I loved the conversations they have been having about their work.
